This is our AUDIENCE RESEARCH page. We had three weeks to complete the pre-production process. In order to have a clear guideline when carrying out our production process, a questionnaire which contained twenty-five questions related to our trailer, film poster and magazine front cover was created. We wanted a range of people to answer the questionnaire hence the reason it is visual and included existing posters and trailers. We wanted the non media student to answer the questions to their best ability. The audience research was filled out by variety of age group via different media type. The feedback we get is very important as we will have a clear indication as to what our potential target audience are attracted to in a magazine front cover, film poster and teaser trailer.

My first choice of media was Whatsapp because it is 'cross- platform mobile messaging app for iPhone, Blackberry, Android, Windows phone and Nokia'. Whatsapp allows you to send images, videos and text, this was perfect as my questionnaire was visual.
Six participant aged seventeen to nineteen were asked all twenty- five questions because we wanted a range of feedback which will help us during the production process. The participants were not media students so they found it helpful that the questionnaire contained trailers which explained the question. However some were unaware of the word linear so needed an explanation.

Twitter is an online social network service; which allows pictures and text to be exchanged. Unlike Facebook and Whatsapp was unable to show the video. QUESTION TWENTY-SIX
In the questionnaire we asked the audience which out the three fonts they preferred for the masthead of the magazine. However whilst drafting the magazine we were unhappy with the fonts we asked in the questionnaire. We had eight potential fonts we liked but was unable to narrow it down to just one. We decided therefore to ask the audience which they preferred as it will targeted to them. The question was asked via Whatsapp to ten people aged 17-18.
The pie chart below displays the feedback received from the audience:
EVALUATION:
Based on the feedback we recieved from the audience research we have concluded to the following:
From the audience research it is clear that layout four of the magazine and layout one for the poster was the audience favourite as it got most votes. Therefore those are going to be the layouts used as we must use the feedback we received from the audience.
Our trailer must include captions because they feel caption helps them to understand better. The music is the most important element in our trailer as it has the best effect on their emotion. The narrative on the other hand has no effect on the audience's emotion so therefore it is not relevant if the trailer is on narrative order or not. However we have decided as a group it will be best for the trailer to be linear. To build tension we have decided to make a trailer quick paced. This was also suggested from the audience research. To ensure our trailer is successful we the narrative cannot be predictable.
Our magazine front cover must contain:
The magazine must be in the range of £1.50-3.50 as gathered from the audience research.
