This is our TEAM LOG page. This page consists of all meetings that have taken place between members of Spooky Entertainment in regards to individual roles, ideas and set targets. We will record when the meetings were taken, the general topic of discussion and which members of the group were present. Regular meetings will take place from September up until December and will help to ensure each member of Spooky Entertainment is well prepared to meet deadlines when they have been set.

Our 1st official meeting as a group began with us introducting ourselves and exchanging contact details. Once we all knew one another we began to discuss possible names for our group and production company.
As a group we came up with a few possible names:
We decided to take a vote and Alicia, Tayo and Shannon all voted in favour of the production name Spooky Entertainment. The other vote made by Devonte was in favour of the name Shadow Productions.
As well as deciding the group name, we also decided to delegate tasks to members of the group. As a group it was agreed:
Tayo was best suited to initially creating and then maintaining the entire group website although all members of the group have access to the site and are able to upload work at any time.
Alicia would be responsible of documenting every team meeting onto weebly.
Whilst Tayo departed to set up the website in the Mac Suite, Alicia, Devonte and Shannon proceeded with the meeting discussing concepts for the film trailer. Tayo, Shannon and Alicia had originally stated we wanted to produced a psychological trailer whilst Devonte had presented the group with an idea for a slasher film trailer. We agreed to develop 2 psychological film trailer ideas and 1 slasher.
Devonte had suggested that we shoot a trailer at an old, rusty hospital. The remaining members of the group were not to convinced.
As a group we came up with a few possible names:
- Crystal Clear Productions which was suggested by Devonte as it was the name of the provisional production company name he used when creating his trailer for his AS/A2 summer work. We all liked the name idea except for the word 'Clear', so we instead tried to come up with another word to accompany Crystal.
- Shadow Productions
- Spooky Entertainment
- Paranormal Sky
- Black Mist

Today we pitched our three concepts to the class. Out of the three the class chose 'Leviathan' as the treatment we should develop.
Therefore in our group we assigned each other tasks on what should be completed before or next Media lesson on Thursday. This is how the tasks were allocated:
Later on that same day a conversation commenced on Whatsapp involving the entire group and it was just to make sure that everyone was aware of the task/s they were allocated so that all the work could be completed in time for the set deadline.

However we could not use Antichrist as the film title already exists and Fallen Angel did not seem to be appealing any more. Instead we decided to use 'Ursula' as our title as it is the name of the protagonist. Also it can be easily branded.
Since we changed the title we wanted to change the tag line as we felt the tag line we had did not link with the title.

We managed to narrow down the seven potential titles to just three:
Out of the three, it was decided as a group that we should go for New World Order (nWo) as our magazine title.
Tayo felt strongly that we should change our current film tagline 'Satan I Summon Thee!!'. To back up his argument Tayo presented the group with a document of existing tag lines (Image on the right) to show why our current tag line does not work:
The group finally came to an agreement that the tagline wasn't ideal and needed changing.
Since our film is similar to Carrie we decided to try and come up with a tag line similar to Carrie. These were the potential tag lines:
In the end we all decided on 'Innocence is lost, Evil is found' as our new film tagline.
- Sinister
- New World Order (nWo)
- #horror

Looking back at the feedback from the class we decided we should change the title of our film as it is hard to pronounce.
As a group we came up with a few possible title:
We took a vote and out of the six we agreed on Antichrist; however thought the word had a wide meaning so we tried to think of a word to accompany it. We also liked Fallen Angel because our protagonist was a lovely humble person before she was possessed. This concept links with the title.
We also looked at potential locations to shoot our trailer:
For tomorrow's lesson task were given so we will have less to do for the final treatment.

As a group we had to decide whether our magazine should cater only to the sub-genre of our film or a variety of sub-genres.
Shannon felt the magazine should be a specific sub-genre like our film however Tayo felt it needed to be a general horror magazine. Alicia on the other hand was unsure. We therefore decided we should focus on the title for our magazine and then we could decide if the magazine should be specific or general.

This day marked the beginning of the Production stage and so we began by having a brief meeting to divvy out roles between our group members. At this point we were at a crucial stage as we had reached the time to properly prepare for filming and each role was of vital importance. The roles were given out as so:
We weren't particularly given a deadline for this stage at the time although we were asked to complete our Shooting Script for a deadline of Friday 25th October 2013 as our group could be shooting our trailer on the following week and would be in need of it.
- Shooting Script - Tayo
- Location Reece - Alicia
- Costume & Make Up - Shannon

Due to the frantic nature of filming, we didn't exactly have a meeting today although after finishing filming on our scheduled time we quickly got together to discuss when we could possibly find time to film additional scenes as well as doing the photography for our final products.

During the drafting process of the magazine, since he had completed all due tasks earlier than the deadline, Tayo made attempts to design the masthead and logo for the magazine (below). Tayo was unhappy with the branding of the title (New World Order) and so the group collectively decided to something that could be branded much more easily and effectively. A brief conversation took place on Whatsapp in regards to the title of the magazine.
The name 'Infamous' branded as 'inFamous' was chosen and the group immediately began researching suitable fonts for the magazine title. In case it's unclear in the photos above, these where the 9 different fonts we found.
Each group member voted for the font they preferred but we felt that it would be foolish not to ask our audience so we undertook some Audience Research on the topic before making our final decision. Since we had a new title for the magazine, we looked into the possibility of having a new magazine logo also.
As a group we liked the branding of HorrorHound's masthead so we decided we should place our logo and masthead similarly. We also discussed the position of the main character image. A brief conversation took place on Whatsapp about potential logo for our title. It was decided that we will decide as a group on Tuesday which logo we like best as the vast amount to chose from meant that Audience Research was quite unrealistic.

From our audience research we gathered the sound is an important element when creating suspense in our trailer. We initialy wanted our trailer's sound to be similar to Carrie due to the similar narrative. However finding the right sound that will syncronise with the shots we have was harder that we expected.
At first we tried to create our own sound but was unabble to create an effective suspense.
After reseach we came across two websites 'www.videoblocks.com' and 'www.pond5.com' which provided sounds.
