This is our CONCEPTS page. During the first week in which Spooky Entertainment was formed, we immediately began work on developing 3 ideas into presentable concepts. These concept would then be presented to our peers where they would then choose which one they'd like us to proceed with and develop into our final products. Their decisions would be made based on each concepts synopsis, how easily they could be made into final products and how well thought out the concepts were. In order to present our concepts to our peers we decided to turn them into visual presentations and used Todorov's theory, our character profiles and a general sense of our ideas for the trailers. Once we had finished presenting our concepts, a vote was taken out to decide which one we'd carry out as a group. Below are the 3 concepts and the feedback we received:
Idea 1:
FEEDBACK: Hide
Positives:
|
Areas for Improvement:
|
The general consensus surrounding the concept Hide was fairly positive although casting was an area of improvement that was flagged quite frequently.
Idea 2:
FEEDBACK: Leviathan (later changed to Ursula)
Positives:
|
Areas for Improvement:
|
The general consensus surrounding the concept Leviathan was fairly mixed with the concept being regularly sited as a positive although difficulty film was an area of improvement that was flagged quite frequently.
Idea 3:
FEEDBACK: The Devil's Eye
Positives:
|
Areas for Improvement:
|
The general consensus surrounding the concept The Devil's Eye was again fairly mixed with the fact it's quite easy to film being regularly sited as a positive although further developing the plot was an area of improvement that was flagged quite frequently.
Feedback / Voting
Before we had received the relevant feedback from our peers, a vote was taken out to decide which concept we would continue the rest of our project with. The vote was out of 21 and the results are below:
As shown in the graph above, Leviathan won the vote of our peers by a landslide and this was something that was welcomed by all members of Spooky Entertainment. Although we were all well prepared to take on either of the 3 concepts, Leviathan was the one we each felt was our strongest and probably best concept. We all thought that the feedback received was fair and valid. None of it was taken with a pinch of salt and directly upon receiving the feedback, the entire group got to work looking at each of the highlighted areas of improvement. The first area we looked at was the difficulty pronouncing the film title. There appeared to be a general agreement surrounding everyone involved that it wasn't an ideal film title and that is why it has now been changed to the much more appropriate title; Ursula.
